APPLICATION GUIDELINES

  • Contributor applications are divided into three categories: Artist, Merch Artist & Writer.

  • Applicants can apply for more than one role, but they will likely only be accepted for one.

  • Applicants will be handing in three samples of their work for review for each category they want to apply for. Portfolios are not required, but allowed.

  • Please make sure that any samples or portfolios are accessible for viewing.

  • Submit samples of your work that represent your current skill as well as the style you plan to use in the zine.

  • Samples don't have to include the Bone Bros, or even Undertale as a whole, but it is highly encouraged.

  • All samples must be finished pieces.

  • FOR ARTISTS: Of your three samples, at least one must include a proper background.

  • FOR WRITERS: All samples must be a minimum of 1k and a preferred maximum of 5k words long. They can be 10k words long at the absolute maximum. This can be a one-shot or a single chapter from a multi-chapter fic, as long as this single chapter makes sense on its own and needs no additional context.

  • FOR MERCH ARTISTS: It is encouraged that you include a sample of any digital merch you may have made before.

Contributor Expectations

  • We ask that contributors refrain from publishing their finished work until a set period after publication.

  • Any piece created for the zine will continue to belong to the creator after the project's run. We claim no ownership.

  • Undertale AUs are more than allowed, however please keep in mind that it should be relatively well established and include both Sans and Papyrus, as they are the main theme of the project.

  • A contributor may work alone or in collaboration with another contributor of their choosing.

  • Contributors may submit a minimum of one completed piece and a maximum of two pieces. A collab counts as one piece for each contributor involved.

  • Contributors will need a Discord account to participate in this project.

  • Contributors will be expected to show their progress during the scheduled Check-ins and be open to receive feedback on their piece. Should they not be able to make it on time, they are expected to communicate this to the mods beforehand.

A fanzine is a non-professional and non-official publication produced by fans. In this case it takes on the form of a collaborative art book.

What's the theme for this zine?
The theme is the bond between Sans and Papyrus, regardless of universe or dynamic. Whether you see them as brothers in one context, co-workers in another, or lovers in the next, we want to see them through your eyes!
Keep in mind that this project is entirely SFW.

It will be a standard A4 size, vertically oriented.

The zine will be completely free!

How many contributors are you planning on accepting?
This will depend mostly on the number of applicants we get. Our current estimate is around 30-40.

Will the zine be physical?
It will not. As both of the zine organizers are still rather new to the roles, and in order to minimize any risks, the zine will only be made available as a downloadable PDF file.

Will you offer merch as well?
Yes! However keep in mind that it will be exclusively digital goodies.
